Privacy Policy
Kinboard has no accounts, no servers of its own, no analytics and no ads. The developer never receives your calendars, lists, photos or location.
Where your data lives
Everything you set up in Kinboard - family members, calendars, lists, chores, countdowns, photos and settings - is stored on your devices and in your own iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. When you invite family members, the same data is shared with the people you invite, through their iCloud accounts. The developer cannot see or access any of it.
Calendars
- With your permission, Kinboard on iPhone or iPad reads the calendars you choose and copies their upcoming events into your iCloud so your family screen can show them. Kinboard never changes or deletes events.
- Calendar links you add (ICS or webcal) are downloaded directly from the calendar provider by your device.
Location and weather
To show local weather, Kinboard asks for your approximate location. It is used only on your device to request a forecast from Apple Weather (WeatherKit). Kinboard does not store or share your location.
Photos
- Family photos you add are saved to your iCloud so every family screen can show them.
- If you choose an album from the Photos app, its pictures are read only on that device and are never uploaded.
Purchases
The free trial and the Kinboard+ purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. Kinboard only learns whether the purchase is active; it never sees your payment details.
Children
Kinboard is a family app and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Tracking
Kinboard does not track you across apps or websites and contains no third-party analytics or advertising code.
Deleting your data
Delete the app from your devices, then remove its iCloud data in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Kinboard. Family members who joined your family can leave it at any time from Kinboard on their iPhone.
